University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada
July 22 - August 1, 2008

Main

Organizers:

  • Joanna Karczmarek (University of British Columbia)
  • Moshe Rozali (University of British Columbia)
  • Gordon Semenoff (University of British Columbia)
  • Sang-Jin Sin (APCTP, Hanyang University)
  • Bum-Hoon Lee (Sogang University and CQUEST)

This will be the sixth in an ongoing series of annual summer schools in theoretical physics held in Canada. The first, second and fourth editions of these schools were held at the University of British Columbia. The third and fifth summer schools took place at the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo.

These schools are intended to educate graduate students and early career researchers on current developments in string theory. The theme of this year's school is Advances and Applications of AdS/CFT.

Places in the school, particularly for early career researchers - graduate students and postdoctoral fellows - will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Some scholarships for partial financial support of students and early career researchers are available. The number of scholarships, as well as the number of spaces at the School are limited. Those who wish to attend are asked to please complete the application form before May 25, 2008. (Applications after the deadline will be considered if space remains.)
